Well, not literally, but after working on Stravinsky for the better part of an hour, I'm feeling rather suicidal. TR's rendition of a segment of the Rite of Spring is NOT coming together very smoothly. He wants to use it as one of our Five Rhythms of Ecstatic Music and Dance, but until the rhythm section locks in this annoying syncopated beat, it's pure misery. He then hands me a re-arranged David Crosby piece (Tamalpais High at about 3), with swing jazz rhythms, which is fine... But my solo part is in 4/4 and he is trying to get Curtis, David, and Amy to play in 6/4 (no, not 6/8 - that would have been too fast to sub-divide). They got it, but I still had to count in 4 and my head was starting to hurt from all the internal counting because I had to completely ignore what was going on in the rhythm section.

TR is way the hell up HERE in his ambitions as music arranger and the rest of us are way the hell down THERE in terms of understanding what the *&^% he is doing!!!! The man is brilliant, but confusing. Gods, I need Advil.
